It’s hard to beat the Lively Times for a comprehensive listing of everything from music, exhibits, theatre, to readings and recreation in venues  from Billings to Spokane. Too bad I didn’t pay attention to my own advice–I missed David Grisman’s performance at the Symes Hotel in Hot Springs. You can subscribe for $12.50/yr, pick it up free at news stands, and/or access it online.

Corridor comes out monthly and can be picked up at news stands or accessed online. I like their searchable database. You can choose the type of event–music, politics, religion, kids-oriented, for example; narrow your search further, print out only those events that interest you, have a reminder email sent to you, and even be notified of changes. Almost as good as having your own personal social secretary and a heck of a lot cheaper.

The Missoula Independent can be picked up free every Thursday at news stands or accessed online. Click on the Arts tab and you’ll find an excellent rundown on entertainment at regional clubs, music events, and galleries.  An eclectic mix of community events is featured under the News tab, and be sure to check out the extensive listing of area restaurants under the Food tab.
