Nature Watching Sites in the Bitterroot Valley and Beyond
This site will give you a general idea of various sites in the Bitterroot for birdwatching. Click on a red bird and it will take you to that particular site with directions on getting there, what to watch for, the best viewing place, and a little history of the area. Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge is a wonderful place to watch for birds and wild animals while walking the 2 1/2 miles of trail through the refuge.
Teller Wildlife Refuge offers you the opportunity to stay in one of four historic homesteads and walk the many trails on this 1,200 acre wonderland. However, you don’t have to stay at the Teller to experience an example of conservation at its best. You can also reach them at 406) 961-3507.
Blodgett Canyon not only offers wonderful birdwatching, it also provides some of the most spectacular scenery in the Valley.
